Building trust and confidence
with our parents
is very important to us.

Jenny Fitzgerald has developed a trusted relationship with Valley Christian Schools for placing students into quality homestays, and then skillfully managing them to our school’s expectations. I admire her patience and insight in dealing with both students, parents, and host families!Blessings, Scott Wessling
Director of Academic Relations

Jenny has the perfect combination of warmth and leadership with both the host families and the students and has the experience over several years to make the program a big success. We have had many short-term international student stays and hosted a boy from China this year. I recommend this experience to every family to open your eyes to the world!Bobbi Lynn Hall

As the only child in my family, my son was pampered at home. When he arrived in America, he started to clean his own room, wash his clothes, make plans for his study. So, the ability of taking care of himself was improved quickly. In this big family, he learned how to compromise and take care of others, he became more and more confident and friendly.Zhaorui Li

Jenny is an excellent international student homestay coordinator. In this warm family, I feel the love. She cared for my son as if he were her own. Jenny also helps me communicate with teachers. We get along very well, like friends!Rose

About Jenny

My name is Jenny Fitzgerald and I am the owner of Homestay San Jose. We are a small company in San Jose and we work very closely with only two schools ~ Valley Christian and Apostles Lutheran. Because of this, we know our staff and our families very well and we offer homestay families who are involved, caring and wonderful!
As your homestay provider ~ I check in regularly (once a month and face to face) with your student and his/her host family to ensure that everything is going smoothly. However, I am always available if a need arises and I can be reached by phone, e-mail or we chat.

I have a great working relationship with the staff at both schools and we work as a team to make sure things are going well for our students. It is a very high priority to me that your student feels well cared for during his/her stay.

A little about me: I have been married to Andy for 18 years and we have four children. My oldest is Jake 17, then Dawson 15, Garrett is 14 and our daughter Carly is 10. We currently have a 17 year old boy and a 15 year old boy living with us who are both from China. Connar, our 17 year old, is a senior at Valley Christian. Jingshi is in 9th grade and attending our public high school. In addition to hosting 7 long-term students, we have hosted 12 short-term students for summer programs. We have been hosting now for 8 years. My husband is a pastor of a local church called The Bridge Community Church. I spend my time investing in my own family, my church family and my Homestay San Jose family of international students and their host families.

My younger sister was a foreign exchange student when she was a senior in high school. I learned from her about how critical it is for international students to have safe, loving adults who are available to them and who are engaged in how they are doing. My passion is to find a safe, loving home for your student where he/she will feel cared for and included.

I very much look forward to the opportunity to work with your student in the future. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or to request an application.
